Massimo Mattioli

Critical Systems Manager

Massimo (Max) Mattioli was appointed the Critical Systems Manager of SUPERNAP Italia in September 2015. He has a degree in telecommunications and brings 33 years of valuable experience, gained in several roles in and around the data center and supporting infrastructure.

Massimo started his telecommunications career in Italcable, an Italian overseas telephone company, as a Switch and Transmission Engineer. After a few years, he had the opportunity to join the international business as part of the complex Solutions department. Massimo’s responsibilities included implementing the latest new technologies such as video conferencing systems, TDM solutions and routing and bridging equipment for key customers like FIAT, Iveco, Pirelli Tires and Cable, Merloni and Banca di Roma.

In 1998, Massimo moved to Worldcom early in the company’s start-up phase, where he created, developed and grew the Operations team. During this rapid period of growth, he was responsible for three data centers, the voice and switch infrastructure, and FO networks in a 24×7 high-availability environment. In 2007 Massimo joined Verizon where he spent eight years as the Data Center and Facility Manager for Italy and Greece, managing the second largest Verizon data center in Europe.

He was a critical member of the executive management team for Worldcom, MCI Worldcom, MCI and Verizon.
